PRotcod Zzaj: robably around 75 to 100 hours. Work at the "day job", work as a staff
writer for MUSICDISH, "shameless self-promotion" & other activities related
to music. Porn sites used to be an attraction, but I'm gettin' too "old"
for that nowadays!
Most people, whether they're willing to admit it or not,
have a uniform -- clothing they'll
default to when left to their own devices. What's your uniform?
Rotcod Zzaj: Work uniform: business casual. Home uniform: "HOMEMADEMUSIC.com" t-shirt, jeans, unless it's work on the aforementioned "music jobs", in which case it's usually just the t-shirt.

especially for small studios/production companies like mine (Zzaj
Productions).
Given the choice, would you rather stake your life on your
ability to quickly solve a complex mathematical equation, or attempt to
fight/escape from a large grizzly bear? Why?
Rotcod Zzaj: Fight/escape from a large grizzly bear! You can't solve complex equations
with Porsches, but you sure CAN escape a grizzly bear with one.

board games?
Rotcod Zzaj: NO video games... MONOPOLY would be my fave board game.

Rotcod Zzaj: Same as any other political issue... ANARCHY!
What album or albums in your music collection would you
have to replace immediately if they wore out, were stolen, etc.?
Rotcod Zzaj: ALL of the Bruce Cockburn tapes/albums. ALL of the Zappa, which is pretty
extensive.
Do you use Napster (or any of its variants)? How often?
For what? If not, why not?
Rotcod Zzaj: Only a few .mp3 downloads, mostly for review potential. I'm too busy
producing music (my own or other artists) for my label to do much with this
technology.
You are able to get away with murder once, and only once.
Who, if anyone, do you kill?
Rotcod Zzaj: I would like to (somehow) kill the "spirit" of the politician. To eradicate
that spirit/mentality (liar, liar, set your pants on fire) from the human
condition.

life. Who's it gonna be?
Rotcod Zzaj: John Lennon.

someone special? What was the last pet name your someone special used to
refer to you?
Rotcod Zzaj: Lambie. "Mr. Dick".
Was Betsy Ross hot for George Washington?
Rotcod Zzaj: She was a woman... he was a man (or so we've been told, tho' since he was a
politician, that's probably questionable, too... for all we know, George
[not Zahora] was a flag-transvestite).

suspect to be a load of crap?
Rotcod Zzaj: The Kennedy assasination, as told by the Warren Commission.

The official short bio: Rotcod Zzaj (aka Dick Metcalf) has been makin' tapes for over 10 years now (and making music for nearly 25, both in-studio and on-stage)! He's been a coordinator for the annual Olympia Experimental Music Festival since it started in 1995. (End official short bio) In addition to being a prolific creator of/collaborator in musical projects (and a regular contributor of music to Splendid), Rotcod Zzaj somehow finds time to review other folks' stuff.
