![]() | As far as cliches are concerned, it's said that music is the universal language. Fortunately, there's absolutely nothing cliche about the international accessibility of Italy's Red Sector A. Programming some excellent drum and bass tracks, RSA would be gobbled up in moment's notice if they were released on a domestic label (domestic electronic labels, TAKE NOTE!). While I don't have my BPM counter handy, RSA tends to stay on the 100+ bpm side with a deft combination of straightforward, pounding electronica, dabbed with tinges of ethereal and ambient interjections. A variety of effects are also incorporated into the mixes, as "Expansion's" robotic bass amply displays. Likewise, "Ex. Ta. Svs" allocates a small part of the solar system for your own space-mind travel (considerate, eh?), as a more expansive and atmospheric milieu is created. "Unknown Territories" wraps up this entertaining effort with dramatic and explorative piano, accompanied by light yet soothing percussive strains. For those who overindulge on Astralwerks-related paraphernalia, here's a superb example of the more "worldly" offerings that are available for your consumption. | |||||
