The Wiseguys

These U.K. beat-driven, sample-crazed white kids can teach you a thing or two about soul-shakin', booty-bouncin', funkified rhythms -- all within the confines of a single track. While the English-chart-topping "Ooh La La" may have the successful formula of a catchy drum beat, schticky vocal samples and quick beat breakdowns, other tracks like "Start the Commotion" and "Production" use their strong sonic variety to apply equal satisfaction to your ears. Like many of their Ideal labelmates, The Wiseguys combine a mixture of hip-hop, electronic, dance and good-natured humor on each of their tracks. DJ Touché mixes in plenty of old school beats with the hipness of 90's retro fusion, offering markedly balanced rhythms. The four on the floor porno jam "Au Pair Girls" slithers warmly around your ears, begging the sudden questioning of your unexpected horniness. Perfect for a heavy-duty house rockin' party or as bountiful musical accompaniment for your embarrassing, lonely Friday night solo dance moves in your bedroom, The Antidote will have your stereo tearing up the beats as a wry coolness infiltrates your psyche.
