If you've read Splendid for a while, you're probably ready to smack me across the face if I mention Gluecifer again. As a matter of fact, the word Gluecifer has been summarily banned from my household, as a certain chica of mine has had enough of my Norwegian obsession. Well, don't blame me -- I just work here. If you want to start pointing fingers at people, I suggest you launch a two fisted knuckle strike against Sub Pop, as the Seattle-based label has extended its tentacles across the water once again, plucking the walking rock 'n' roll timebomb out of Oslo for another round of musical enjoyment.

Tender is the Savage detonates in your face, loosing ten gruelling tracks of rock 'n' roll mayhem. What began back in 1994 as a pseudo-sloppy experiment in jammin' power chords has evolved into a full-fledged assault. The scowling Biff Malibu belts out his razor-sharp lines, backed by the dual guitar forces of the sly Raldo Useless and uber-sex-kingpin Captain Poon. Gluecifer delivers classic-rock-inspired material here, opening with the great ditty "I Got a War." Beckoning you to take a bite out of rock 'n' roll history, "Chewin' Fingers" serves up a tasty slice of MC5 that will have your tongue drippin' drool all over the floor as you anxiously beg for thirds. Shit, do I sound like a groupie?

As a matter of fact, every offering here lives up to the Gluecifer standard of unabashed rock ‘n’ roll exquisiteness, keeping these jackasses-of-all-trades at the top of their art while slaughtering every other band in sight with their finely honed style of rockin' out with their cocks out. If you crave gritty guitar riffs, head shakin' sing-a-longs and a live show that'll outdo any band in the neighborhood, folks, there's still a bit of room left on the Gluecifer bandwagon -- so get your ass on board for the ride.
