You've got to give Psykopunk Records credit if only for the fact that they dealt with 33 bands when compiling Jurassic Punk -- and that's only the bands who made it onto the release. Ever dealt with punk bands? If not, be glad. With sub-punk genres ranging from hardcore to pop punk to ska-punk, there's sure to be a few groups that tickle your fancy here. Favourites include openers, Whippersnapper, with their fist-pumpin', anthem inducin' "NSA" and its whip-fast tempo. Unleaded Plus' "Beginning of the End" tosses an entirely different feel into the mix, as punchy guitars stroll hand in hand with a blaring ska-horn section and snippy vocals. And if you're looking for some good ol' hate, check out the all out frat-boy attack from Big Wig or the hardcore riffing of the "Cheers Theme" by Rhythm Collision (hope you boys cleared that one with NBC!). There are a few forgetters, as with all comps, but Jurassic Punk succeeds with a majority of entertaining songs that deliver the punk punch for a cheap $6 punk price.
