Do you crave rock 'n roll, or do you crave ROCK 'N' ROLL? The Tight Bro's From Way Back When are currently burning up all-ages venues across the Northwest with what can only be described as rock à la AC/DC/MC5/Stooges -- real genuine, loud stuff. To say Runnin' Thru My Bones rocks is like saying Splendid prints an occasional music review! And Runnin' is the livest studio recording I've ever heard -- these guys have clearly captured the spirit of their live show. You don't even miss the screaming throngs of lusty teens that would normally make up the background of a live recording; The Tight Bro's would be playing too loud for you to hear them anyway! What I really like about this disc is that it sounds like nothing I've heard coming out of Olympia recently. It's not retro, it's not pensive or artsy, it's just really raucous music. The album really comes off like one big long concert set -- everything is fast and loud and there are maybe a couple of 1 second breaks between tunes here or there. It's even hard to pick out a favorite track, though if pressed I'd say "Workin' Overtime" and "Rip it Up" were the shining stars. The former is an automatic winner, with the lyric "I'm workin' overtime for your love" (you can't get cheesier, and yet more rock 'n' roll than that!), while the latter wins because it sounds like something from a lost AC/DC album (circa Dirty Deeds).
