Short Music for Short People

Now, I'm not short. At least I don't feel short. Plus I drive a pick-up. Anyway, even though the demographers at Fat Wreck Chords were apparently not aiming this release at the likes of me (medium-sized people), I've managed to enjoy the CD quite a bit. 101 bands play 101 songs, each of which clocks in at 30 seconds or less, more or less. If you're familiar with the Fat Wreck Chords lineup, you'll know what to expect. If not, a quick rundown of some of the bands on this compilation should give you a good idea: Bad Religion, Nerf Herder, Green Day, The Mr. T Experience, Gwar, Dogpiss, Circle Jerks, The Offspring, D.O.A., 7 Seconds, Rancid, The Queers, Black Flag, Lunachicks, Dwarves, The Muffs, Misfits. Wow. It's pretty much punk rock, hard core, whatever: fast, loud, silly, short...just the way music should be. It's hard to say much more about this disc. We already covered short. And fast. And loud. No slow jams. Your mom hates this CD. Lots of bad words. Really disturbing pelvis-thrusting alien on the cover. It's impossible to concentrate while listening to this thing. Huh? 1 2 3 4 go!
