let's get it right the first time
If the recent departure from SNFU of guitarist Brent Belke and drummer Dave Rees left you depressed as hell, you'll hail Let's Get it Right... as an opportunity to relive cherished moments with the elder statesmen of Canadian punk rock. Yes, on this live album, you can once again thrill to the classic pounding intensity of Dave Rees' drums, or marvel once again at the fact that Mr. Chi Pig always teeters on the edge of sounding like Jello Biafra. Or you can just enjoy the songs. In addition to a healthy selection of tracks from the still-pretty-current FYULABA, you can thrill to the timeless quintessential punk classic "Reality is a Ride on the Bus." And where were you the first time you heard "Cannibal Cafe"? How many of today's new crop of punk rock teens couldn't even walk yet when And No One Else Wanted to Play first began bullying stereo systems into submission? Okay, enough with the rhetorical questions. The point here is that SNFU have been making top-quality punk-rock for years, and they're going to keep on doing it, and you should damn well appreciate them for it, because otherwise when the smoke clears we'll be left with nowt but Green Day and Rancid. By the time you wear out this latest seven-word-titled SNFU CD, new drummer Sean Stubbs should be up to speed and the next chapter of SNFU's history should be well under way.
