Brandston

Brandston are like a bullet: when they're dead on, the band's stunning combination of chiming guitars and dual vocals can be show stoppers with your heart and soul. Tunes like "Long Walk Home" and "As You Wish" are gut-wrenching attestations of the crumbling personal relationships that everyone has had to (or will) endure in their lifetimes. On these tracks, the boys of Brandston seem like sensitive sorts, allowing their guitars to soothe the troubled with a vibrant tone of understanding. However, the band's personality has a nastier, angrier side to it as well; striking tracks like "Things Look Brighter" and "Breaking Ground" blast forth with a ruthless barrage of distortion. The occasional off-key vocal harmonies are the only noticeable detractors on the album, as their execution numbs some of the otherwise well-structured tunes with an awkward cadence. Fallen Star Collection is an emotionally charged audio encounter that'll give your heart a stinging sensation of pain and hope, socializing equally well with both acrid and amiable personalities.
