The White Stripes of indie jangle pop, Jason and Amy Korzen are as adorable and slight as their band's name. This follow-up EP to their full-length debut is amiable and cute, like They Might Be Giants when they're trying to be sincere and sweet rather than ironic or just plain goofy. The title track is less memorable for its allegorical lyrics than when Amy chimes in with the title at the chorus. "These Shoes Keep Walking Back To You" isn't the clever rebuke to Nancy Sinatra you'd hope for, but a brisk, melodica-enhanced run through The Godfathers' "Love Is Dead" works better than you'd ever imagine. "This Girl Needed a Dog" risks twee overload, but on "Tape Sidetrack", a lithe romantic gem, the protagonist woos a girl with that most coveted and crafted of all gifts, the mix tape (or perhaps it's a demo tape?). Nearly as affecting, "Maybe We Should Move To Canada" may seem a little naive, but the Korzens' concern is admittedly heartfelt ("We never feel that safe anymore / we watch the warnings change from yellow to orange"), to the point where you'll just want to give both of them a great big hug.
